Drive Like Jehu “If It Kills You” (by gittty)

Weed Forestin’, was a cassette of four-track recordings Lou Barlow made in his parent’s basement that contained versions of future Sebadoh songs, like this one, Brand New Love. It’s a lovely acoustic version of what ultimately became one of the most killer rock songs of the early 90’s on Sebadoh’s Sub Pop debut, Smash Your Head on the Punk Rock. Anyway, Lou Barlow released a remastered version of the original Weed Forestin’ And it has me falling in love with this song all over again.
Any hope for love can be killed / If you need a different face / It’s definite time to destroy this place.

Your basic early 90’s alternative/indie rock anthem. ”She kept feeding me strawberries / I kept eating those strawberries […] I don’t want no more strawberries / I can’t eat no more strawberries”!!!”
I’m happy someone put this track up on YouTube, and that I’m one of the 48 or so people who listened to it. Now you can be one of those people too.
